New confirmed keynote: Professor Shaun Moores

MooresWe are pleased to confirm a sixth keynote speaker for Conditions of Mediation: Shaun Moores, Professor of Media and Communications in the Centre for Research in Media and Cultural Studies at the University of Sunderland.

Professor Moores is a well-known researcher and theorist whose work is situated in the ethnographic tradition of media studies, and focused on studying practices of media use in everyday contexts. His most recent book Media, Place and Mobility (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012) explores issues of place-making and mobilities, arguing for a ‘non-media-centric’ media studies that critically engages with phenomenology as well as nonrepresentational thinking across the disciplines of philosophy, geography, anthropology and sociology. His other books include Media and Everyday Life in Modern Society (Edinburgh University Press, 2000) and Media/Theory (Routledge, 2005).
